Character Guest Post: What you Should do When Making an Escape Plan

Um…hello? I honestly have no idea what I’m doing, why I’m doing it, or who I’m writing this for, but apparently everyone else has done it before, so I suppose it’s my turn. Though, honestly, I wish it wasn’t.

Anyway, my name is Luke Ketern. I…uh…live in a city hidden in the mountains. Some people call me the Mushroom Man. Others—Ava—call me Fun Guy…

I personally don’t like talking to people…or writing to people…or anything to do with people…but that’s unrelated.

Today I’m talking about things you should do when planning an escape plan. Not that I’m sure these steps will really help with an escape, but here we go…

  1. Make two plans

If you want to have an escape plan be a successful escape plan, you should make two plans…not that it will keep your plan from failing…but it helps in case something bad happens and you need to switch gears. So make sure to make two plans…or three…or four…

Just make a few backup plans…

  1. Keep everything in mind

When making a plan, make sure to take everything into consideration. A lot of things can change and turn. Double check your plan and figure out all the possibilities. Figure out if you will get caught or if somehow there’s a security system or perhaps the guard didn’t have his coffee that morning.

Everything plays into a plan, no matter how small, um…yeah…simple things can change a large plan…a lot…

  1. Be ready to switch gears

Most often, your plan will fail or change in some way so quickly there was no way you could plan for it. Either in a positive way—a random guard will help you. Or negatively—someone will decide to get themselves killed.

Things will change, often very fast. You’ve gotta be prepared to switch and change and keep running.

  1. Don’t write your plan down anywhere

A written plan can be found.

  1. Be as hidden as humanly possible

Whatever you do, have your main goal—aside from the goal of escaping—be to keep yourself hidden. Don’t be yelling as you pass by the guards. Don’t go throwing things at guards heads. And most importantly, don’t offend the guard by talking about his dead goldfish…or something of that sort.

So stay hidden. Most importantly, stay hidden.

And that’s pretty much all the tips I have…just…don’t get caught and imprisoned in the first place. And try not to let your plan fail…

Anyway, thanks for reading I guess…glad this is over…

  1. Very interesting. With all the books I have read over the years I never realized what an author does to make a book interesting. You are on the right path to becoming a successful author. God has given you this gift for a reason. I hope you will continue with it. God has His reasons.
